Matt and I are big fans of making our own homemade juice and smoothies as you may have seen in my previous post on how to make your own mango smoothies. Matt has this obsession with wheat grass and we have never been able to find it in the supermarket before yesterday when we tried a new Wegmans. It was the one missing ingredient that we needed to try and replicate this green machine drink that he loves from Wegmans.
So these are the ingredients that we bought for the drink:
- 1 pineapple
- 2 granny smith apples
- 1 mango
- 3 kiwis
- 1 lime
- a packet of wheatgrass
We juiced them one at a time with our juicer and below are what all the juices looked like. The whole process took about two hours and I think we ended up spending 4 times what a bottle of the drink would cost. You have to try everything once though, right?

Kiwi juice |
Apple juice |
Mango juice |
Pineapple juice |
Lime juice (we just ended up squeezing this one into the cup instead of using the juicer |
At the end, we ended up dumping all the juices into our container and mixing them together. Having a glass now and it tastes pretty good. Very healthy too!
