About Me

Hi all!  Thanks for stopping by the blog.  My name is Vicky and on this blog you'll find my every day attempts at creativity - recipes, scrapbooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, mod podge and more.  I love to try new things and I keep finding new hobbies to keep me occupied.

My husband Matt and I got married in June 2012.  We had a geeky, sunflower, sci-fi wedding complete with Cat In the Hat vows and lots of Dr. Who, Battlestar Galactica and Star Wars references.  You can read more about it here and here.

We live in a our dream house - a 1920s cape cod, in Buffalo NY.  Of course even though we love our house, Matt still wants to possibly build our own someday.  We'll see about that one.

We have two dogs - Maggie and Piper.  Maggie is a Jack Russell/Beagle mix whose favorite activites are playing with her rope, licking everything (she's licking me as I write this) and going outside.

Piper was a rescue dog who had been neglected by her previous owners.  She is a beagle/terrier mix.  Her favorite activites are pooping inside the house (we're working on that one), chasing the cat (we're working on that one too) and cuddling (that one she can continue doing).

We also have a cat Lily (she has to sit in the most inconvenient spot always)
And five chinchillas.  They live in our attic and are not my favorite things since they happen to be most active at night and live right above our bedroom.  Matt seems to like them though, so they get to stick around.
Out of all the chinchillas, Moo (above) is probably my favorite.  Matt let me name him and I picked the name moo because he has cow like spots on his head and back.  He was the runt of his litter and was constantly making bad life choices when he was growing up so he's lucky he's still alive, but he's kind of cute.

Matt is a filmmaker for a living and I'm constantly getting pulled into his films one way or another.  I've been an extra in a ton of his films as well as doing Kraft Services (i.e. catering) for a number of his movies.  Now that I'm learning how to sew he's got me doing costumes.  And our house has acted as the set for a number of his movies whether I want it to or not usually.  It's quite a treat to have people you barely know taking a bath in your bathtub.  And no - he doesn't make porn films - everyone in my bathtub is wearing a bathing suit!

He's very excited because he finally saved up enough to buy a red camera recently which is what they use in a lot of the hollywood films.  I volunteered that he could use it to take blog photos for me but he didn't really go for the idea.

Anyway, thanks for stopping by - hope you find something that interests you!  I love reading your comments and visiting your blogs so definitely leave me a comment and a link to your blog so I can visit!
